A 7½ IPS 4-track stereo reel-to-reel release, mastered, duplicated, and quality-audited on Ampex professional recorders in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, with Ampex-style automatic reversing signals at the end of each program. Richard Davis — the Argentine trumpeter born 1934, first trumpet of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, who performed under Beecham, Sargent, Rodzinski, and von Karajan before turning to the “California Sound” — leads his Tequila Brass through twelve sides of brass-forward 60s exotica: Tequila A Go Go, Corcovado, Shadow of Your Smile, Lover, Amado Mio, and Viva Maria on side one; Guantanamera, Swingin’ Mariachi, Flower Bud, Cherry Pink & Apple Blossom White, The Drunken Band, and Cordovan on side two. This copy is a family piece. It was inherited by Wes Kenison from his grandparents, who both spent their full careers at Ampex in Colorado Springs, Colorado — home of Ampex’s magnetic tape operation. The box in your hands credits its duplication to Ampex professional recorders, on Ampex tape: the medium this recording lives on may well have passed through the very operation they gave their working lives to. A reel made by Ampex people, kept by Ampex people.

It survives in its original Audio Fidelity box with the printed reel band intact. Tagged and entered into the BE Authentic chain on July 18, 2026, and gifted the same evening to a fellow reel-to-reel collector at a vinyl-trading gathering — passing from one collection built with care into another, carrying its story with it.
